General Manager of Luxury Spa

Come join Woodhouse Spa of North Bethesda, voted Bethesda’s BEST DAY SPA, 2019 and 2021 by Bethesda Magazine Reader’s Poll. We are seeking a full-time General Manager to lead the on-site operations of our North Bethesda facility.

The General Manager is responsible for all operations of our 6,000 sq/ft spa, including; the daily organization and management of team members, guests, schedule, inventory, and management software. The GM is responsible for hiring, onboarding and training team members on all of their job responsibilities, and ensuring that the performance of their duties is held to the proper standards. The GM is responsible for conforming to and enabling the Woodhouse standards established in the Team Member Handbook and Operations Manual, with the ultimate objective of exceeding guest expectations on a daily basis. 

General Responsibilities:
  • Manage the daily operations of the spa;
  • Make sure both guests and team members are scheduled efficiently and effectively to maximize bookings;
  • Coach and develop team members;
  • Maximize inventory for professional and retail use;
  • Understand our software systems and utilize tools to analyze the spa’s overall performance;
  • Take the lead in neighborhood marketing and community outreach;
  • Ensures each guest has a phenomenal and consistent experience; and
  • Understands that serving and helping others leads to personal satisfaction.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Operates as first in command reporting directly to the Owner/Principal.
2. Individually and through the management of others, keeps the spa running at optimal levels. 
3. Must be organized, dependable, a good trouble-shooter, and be able to resolve all issues. 
4. Needs complete knowledge of all protocols, procedures, and processes.
5. Must be comfortable delegating and providing direction.
6. Responsible for moving retail and cross-selling the services of the spa.
7. Must be relied upon to open and/or close the spa as required. 

Requirements: 2 years of similar work experience in a management capacity. Experience in guest relations and management is essential.
Skills: Administrative, computer, organizational, communication, retailing, and training.
